moon and soft cloud | March 21, 2006

moon and soft cloud || canon350d/ef70-200f4L@200 | 1/250s | f4.5 | P | iso100 | tripod
after many days of cloud and grey it was nice to see some blue sky in toronto.

update: this is shot in late evening so the blue is the actual colour and no filter was used. to expose moon properly and to avoid getting only a blob, you have to under-expose at least 2 stops. Your camera light meter is measuring the whole dark frame and always over exposes the moon. with digital cameras, you can try stepping down the f-stop until you get a good result. also avoid long exposures so you don't get any bluriness caused either by the motion of the camera or the moon (well, earth really)
